CTL LIFT – Classroom Communication Presented by Stacey Cofield, PhD Description: Phones, tablets, laptops, texts, virtual sessions, emails, discussions, assignments, Q&As … the ways we communicate in the classroom have gone far beyond casual after class conversations. Effective communication across all platforms is a necessity for engaging and motivating learners. Learn practical skills through this highly interactive session with simulations, role-playing, and peer feedback, that directly apply to the challenges of communicating in any academic environment. Join the CTL LIFT series & Lean Into Future Teaching Lunch will be provided (if you are unable to attend at the last minute, please contact the CTL: uabctl@uab.edu) Please note: Offered in partnership with the UAB Graduate School, these workshops are designed exclusively for graduate teaching assistants, or graduate students and postdocs who anticipate a career in positions with teaching responsibilities. Participants who complete eight workshops in the program will receive a LIFT certificate from the Center for Teaching and Learning to demonstrate their engagement with learning about good teaching practice.
