About this event
Thunderous emotion and sweeping intensity define Two Russian Masterpieces, a program that plunges into the heart of Russia’s most powerful symphonic voices. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor unfolds with lush lyricism and surging drama, brought vividly to life by guest soloist Henry Kramer, whose commanding technique and expressive depth illuminate every phrase. In the second half, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 11 in G Minor delivers a gripping, cinematic portrayal of struggle and resilience, filled with haunting melodies and explosive climaxes. Together, these monumental works offer an unforgettable journey through passion, turmoil, and triumph.
