Cross Planting Day

Hello friends and community partners, Please join us on Saturday, October 17 when our community will gather here at Minot’s Rosehill Cemetery at 11:00 am for Cross Planting Day! MinotWreaths.org will be staging the Rosehill grounds for the upcoming Wreaths Across America Ceremony on December 19th. The annual Cross Planting tradition happens in October before the ground freezes, lasts about one hour, and sets the stage for the iconic green Wreaths with red ribbons that will honor our veterans with heartfelt remembrance. The Rosehill veteran graves with standing headstones will have wreaths laid against the marble in December, but for those veterans with flat grave markers, the metal crosses planted this Saturday will hold the wreaths through the North Dakota winter weather. As you may know, Minot’s Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is the beating heart behind this mission. CAP Cadets will be on hand hauling crosses for placement along with families, friends, USAF Service Members, homeschool groups, civic organizations, and community volunteers. All are welcome; many hands make light work! Thank you for helping us honor those who served. Bring your work gloves, and we hope to see you on the field… Rosehill is really quite beautiful in the fall!
