In this workshop all about Dahlias, students will learn to cut, shape, and construct each flower. Each participant will construct one bloom in class, with a leaf, and take home enough materials to make two more dahlias. Pre registration is required. All classes are final sale unless event is canceled. Meet Your Teacher: Leona Rogers My journey into becoming a paper flower artist began with using books, photos, online tutorials, and deconstructing real flowers, to create many different varieties of blooms. I use German and Italian crepe paper, watercolors, pan pastels, acrylics, and markers, on my flowers. Some flowers are very specific reproductions of true nature, others are lively, joyful, and completely fanciful. I also have created large wallflowers, that are perfect for decorating and special occasions. Why do I teach? It is a joy for me to make flowers from crepe and I think others would enjoy it too. Students become “Makers” and create their own blooms and see the possibility of making something beautiful with their hands.
