About this event

Join us at Fremont Main Library for a Creative Reuse Workshop with LEAF! LEAF is a local educational nonprofit empowering people to learn, connect, and grow food together. Turn old T-shirts into something new! What can we do with our old T-shirts? We can make T-shirt yarn that can become a hat, a scarf, a belt, and more! In this workshop, we'll be learning how to do some basic knitting with our hands. By the end of the class, we’ll have a new accessory to keep us warm this winter! This workshop is designed for children ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 8 will need a parent or guardian present to assist them with the craft. Seats are limited. Tickets are free and will be distributed at the Children's Information desk 15 minutes before the program. Why reuse? Through Creative Reuse we save material that would have been discarded and gone to waste. Instead, we give it new life and put it to good use to create something new! Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org.
