Creative Aging: Observation, Memory and Imagination

Discover the creative possibilities of collage through observation, memory, and imagination. In this eight-week course, participants will create original artworks by combining painted and colored papers, found images, and drawn elements while exploring composition, color, texture, and personal storytelling. Collage will be approached as a way of drawing with color, shape, and texture. Inspired by Henri Matisse's paper cut-outs, participants will explore how cutting, arranging, and layering forms can become a natural extension of drawing. Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and individual exploration, participants will discover how painting and drawing can become an integral part of collage, developing their own visual language through observation and experimentation. The course is designed to be welcoming and engaging for participants of all experience levels. No previous art experience is necessary. The series concludes with a celebratory exhibition of participants' artwork. Registration required.
