In this country, historian Shirley Wajda says that during the Revolution crafters boycotted British textiles and staged spinning bees “in which they spun wool and flax yarn to make cloth called homespun.” There is no single message or medium - craftivism uses various crafts to express, comment, and inspire collective action. Come gather in community for an afternoon of activist crafting. Bring any craft you are working on, whether knitted hats, crocheted scarves, cross-stitched messages, quilted blankets, or painted signs. Everyone is welcome; drop in at any time and stay as long as you would like. Conversation and snacks will be shared.
