About this event

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore techniques used in quilt-making and sewn assemblage, including improvisational composition, appliqué stitching and hand quilting. Using naturally dyed linen and other provided materials, participants will create a small-scale quilt suitable as a wall hanging, doll quilt or cat mat while gaining an introduction to foundational textile practices. All materials provided. Must be 18 or older to attend. Adult beverages and zero proof drinks are included in registration fee. Questions? Her multi-disciplinary practice began with photography and has evolved to encompass textile arts, printmaking, and installation. Her decades-long work with clothing produced an archive of thousands of fabric swatches from which she draws to create her complex and intriguing sewn assemblages. She teaches and has a studio practice in New Orleans, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
