About this event

Community room. In this class participants will focus on Country/Pop/Honky Tonk style line dancing. This style is popular with dancers of all levels of experience. The sharp moves may look difficult on the floor, but once you understand it, the possibilities are endless. Join instructor Shay in learning some of the hottest new line dances as well as honky tonk classics. Registration is required to attend. Dancers will learn how to understand and break down line dancing. Topics include: Weight placement At least 5 popular dance moves that are building blocks to many dances How to add variations Song swaps How to learn new dances (step sheets) What to wear: Comfortable, family friendly, non-restrictive clothing. Cowboy boots with leather bottoms, dance sneakers, ballroom “practice” shoes are recommended. No boots, no problem: wear flat or non grippy type sneakers or shoes (anything that will not grip the ground). Instructor Shay grew up in the Boston area and dance has always been her number one form of self-expression. Line dance has been her obsession for the past two years. After attending the Nashville Dance Festival in September of 2025, she decided to become a line dance instructor. Shay is a member of the National Teachers Association and in the process of becoming certified in formal dance instruction. Accessibility Notice: We strive to make our events accessible.
