About this event

Conference Room. October's theme is "cake or pie"! Each month we have a theme that you are free to interpret however you'd like. Choose a recipe to make from one of the many cookbooks or other resources in our collection- don't worry, we'll have plenty of suggestions for you! Then we'll meet to talk about books and cooking and enjoy each other's company. Photos of your finished dish are encouraged but not required. Are you Team Cake or Team Pie? Both? This month we'll be showing our team spirit by making either a cake or a pie, depending on which team you're on. You can make it sweet or savory, big enough for a crowd or small enough to be held in your hand- it's up to you! Think a Swedish smörgåstårta or a savory hand pie, or one of the many, many cupcake recipes available. Or if you really are Team Both, you might consider attempting the legendary cherpumple! Browse our incredible cookbook collection in the Library or our ebooks on CloudLibrary or The Palace Project, find something that looks interesting to you, and cook!
