About this event
Englewood - Main Floor, Englewood Public Library. Join us on Saturday, March 20 at 7 p.m. on the library's Main Level for a fun evening of Country Music from Tennessee Walt. "Songs of the Countrywomen" is the latest show from Tennessee Walt, one of the top library acts in the tristate area, and it's a lecture-concert program that's nothing less than the story of country music told through the songs and stories of its greatest female singers and songwriters. Like any Tennessee Walt show, “Songs of the Countrywomen” is roughly 2/3 music (piano/vocal performance of 22 classic country songs) to 1/3 talk (the stories behind the songs and the stories of the people—in this case, of the women—who made them famous). Your audience can expect to hear live performances of Kitty Wells’ "I Can’t Stop Loving You,” Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight,” Tammy Wynette’s “D-I-V-O-R-C-E,” Jeanne C. Riley’s “Harper Valley PTA,” Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” Taylor Swift’s “Back to December,” Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” and many more. This concert is sponsored by The Friends of the Englewood Library.
