About this event
Last spring, we asked the community, "Do you know a changemaker?" You answered a resounding, "Yes!" Aurora is full of people who love their community and put in the work to make a meaningful impact. We are highlighting thirteen of these individuals in our newest Community Voices exhibits, "Changemakers," which is on display at Santori Library and West Branch November 7 - December 6. To complement the exhibit, we are holding a panel discussion where attendees can hear from Aurora Changemakers themselves. Panelists will answer questions posed by a moderator, and there will be time at the end for questions from the audience. This live, in person event gives us the opportunity to come together and dive deeper into the themes that emerged from the exhibit. After the discussion, we will honor all of the nominees and hold a reception with appetizers, refreshments, and a chance to connect. Event Timeline 6:00 p.m.: Panel discussion begins 7:00 p.m.: Q&A 7:15 p.m.: Reception for nominees 8:00 p.m. Guests are invited to view the exhibit in the Atrium at Santori Library What is Community Voices? Community Voices is a collaboration between the library and the community in which the library provides space for community members to share their individual stories. We center Community Voices exhibits around particular heritages or identities that are meaningful for our community. The mission of Community Voices is to celebrate diverse experiences, foster connections, cultivate empathy, and nurture a sense of belonging at the library.
