About this event
The 2026 Community Art Show opens with a reception and the awards announcement. This year’s theme is From Fridge Art to Fine Art, and every piece comes from our own community: artists of all ages, styles, and experience levels. The show also returns to its roots. For nearly two decades it was held in the historic Matthews Opera House before moving to the Matthews Gallery, and this November it comes back to the room where it began. Awards are announced at the reception in eight categories, from Best of Show to Kindergarten & Under. People’s Choice is revealed on social media when the exhibit closes on November 21. The reception is free and open to the public. Want your work in the show? Entries drop off November 3–7. See the call for entries. Matthews Opera House & Art Center 605-642-7973
