About this event
Meeting Room, Cheney. Communication may change as dementia progresses, including repeating the same question or having trouble finding the right word. We talk about how to communicate more effectively with someone living with dementia and how to find what someone is communicating through their difficult behaviors. Community Partners: SHIBA & ALTCEW Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) provide free, unbiased, and confidential counseling services and are part of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner. SHIBA is a statewide network of trained volunteers who advocate for and assist consumers with Medicare. Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) is the local sponsor of SHIBA and provider of Medicare education. ALTCEW also provides education and support on the topics of dementia and memory loss, fall prevention, and others. Presented by educators from ALTCEW
