@ register now At the Cinema with the Surrealists Join us for this month’s installment of our Coffee with a Curator series featuring Patrick Ellis, Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Tampa. In conjunction with our special exhibition Dalí in America, this combination lecture and screening explores the cinematic infatuations of Dalí and the Surrealists. From Disney and Hitchcock to the Three Stooges, Dalí’s film collaborations are well known—but what of his other cinematic enthusiasms? Discover Dalí’s idiosyncratic tastes in film before zooming out to explore the lesser-known Hollywood obsessions of the Surrealists. By the morning’s end, you, too, may be watching movies like a Surrealist. Location: The Dalí Museum’s Will Raymund Theater (registration required) or live on YouTube (link below).
