Explore the rich history of food across Texas with Dr. Nalelli Guillen, Vice President of Interpretation & Curator of history, and curator of Gather ’Round the Table: Texas Food Traditions. From desserts and drinks to beloved family recipes, uncover the cultural influences, traditions, and stories behind the foods Texans have gathered around for generations. Following a guided gallery experience, put your creativity to work during a hands-on watercolor session with featured artist Alicia McAllen. Inspired by traditional Texas foodways, you’ll create an original watercolor piece in a relaxed, social setting. Your ticket includes guided gallery access, light bites and drinks, and all materials needed to complete your watercolor painting. Space is limited. Advance tickets are strongly recommended.
