New Directions in Early Modern European Art: The Aso O. Tavitian Collection Symposium Join an international group of scholars for a symposium in honor of the Aso O. Tavitian Collection gift to the Clark. Organized in conjunction with the exhibition, An Exquisite Eye: Introducing the Aso O. Tavitian Collection, this one-day gathering explores current scholarship on early modern European art. The Clark welcomes the following speakers: Etienne Breton, Saint Honoré Art Consulting Adam Eaker, Howard Marks Curator, Metropolitan Museum of Art Lisa Ellis, Conservator, Sculpture and Decorative Arts, Art Gallery of Ontario Caroline Fowler, Starr Director of the Research and Academic Program, Clark Art Institute Dennis Geronimus, Professor of Renaissance Art History, New York University Sarah Grandin, Lecturer in the Arts of Early Modern France, The Courtauld Institute of Art Nicholas Hall, Nicholas Hall Ltd. Stuart Lochhead, Stuart Lochhead Sculpture Olivier Meslay, Professor, École du Louvre Paris Spies-Gans, Art Historian and Writer Lara Yeager-Crasselt, Aso O. Tavitian Curator of Early Modern European Painting and Sculpture, Clark Art Institute Free and open to scholars and the public.
