Civics and the Next Generation of Changemakers

Event Details Reception: 6 pm | Panel Discussion: 7 pm At a time when civic participation has never mattered more, how do we ensure young people have the tools and opportunities to engage thoughtfully, constructively, and across difference? In partnership with C&S and the League of Women Voters of Westport, join us for an evening exploring the role that higher education plays in preparing the next generation of civic changemakers. Featured speakers — President Daniel Lugo of Trinity College and President Michael Roth of Wesleyan University — are two of more than 140 college presidents who have joined College Presidents for Civic Preparedness, a consortium organized by C&S to transform campuses into hubs for civic action. Together, they're working to equip faculty and students with the skills for civil discourse and collaborative problem-solving.
