The Library’s Civics 101 series seeks to explore lesser known political histories and perspectives and shine a light on local issues impacting our community. This year, we're highlighting stories of civics that go beyond the ballot: all the activism, organizing, protest, research, and community building that go on behind the scenes to make change happen. Join us for From Homophiles to Liberators: Queer Activism in the 1960s, a presentation by Stuart Hinds, Co-founder of the Gay and Lesbian Archive of Mid-America (GLAMA) to explore the decades of queer activism that took place before the famous Stonewall Uprising in 1969.
