Chip Mock Caricatures at South Allen Street in State College, PA on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Chip Mock grew up in Johnstown, Pa., admiring and drawing funny likenesses from an early age, inspired by artists John Johns, Norman Rockwell, Mort Drucker, and Al Hirshfield. While studying at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Chip attended workshops taught by John Johns, where he honed his skill for drawing caricatures at festivals and events. After graduation, Chip moved to the State College area for work in graphic design and advertising in 1981. He started drawing caricatures locally the next year. In 45 years since then he has enjoyed drawing hundreds of thousands of smiling faces! Along with arts festivals throughout the state, Chip has entertained people of all ages with his caricature skills at parties, proms, weddings, company picnics, countless Penn State events, and on cruise ships. His black-and-white style is fast and funny, always aiming to capture the charm of someoneβs personality in their likenesses. He makes the experience of being drawn fun and entertaining for his subjects and especially enjoys their laughter and the laughter of friends and family when his drawing is revealed to them. Chip finds great satisfaction in knowing his work is still enjoyed, hanging on walls in homes, schools, and offices. There is a cost for this activity.
