Katharine Jefferts Schori to Preach at Grace Cathedral The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, the first woman to serve as presiding bishop of The Episcopal Church, will join us for a forum at 2:30 pm and a special Evensong and Reception at Grace Cathedral on Sunday, October 18, at 4 pm. Presented by the Bishop’s Advisory Committee on Commemorating the Ordinations of Women, the service comes as the church approaches the 20th anniversary of Jefferts Schori’s historic election as presiding bishop and the 50th anniversary of the 1976 General Convention vote authorizing the ordination of women to the priesthood. Jefferts Schori will preach and help us celebrate the audacity of the women and the allies who stood with them, who helped widen the gates of ministry for future generations. Event Details The entrance to the cathedral is at the top of the Great Steps. The accessible entrance is via the glass doors on Taylor Street or from the cathedral garage.
