**El Grito Portland serves as a distinguished celebration that honors the independence of Mexico and various Latin American nations, while simultaneously marking the beginning of the National Hispanic Heritage Month.** **Each year, thousands of participants come together to celebrate the rich and diverse Latino/a/e culture, honoring traditions, our ancestors and indigenous heritage.** **This free and vibrant commemoration is a testament to the strength of our communities, bringing us together through music, food, art, cultural pride and community resources provided by participant organizations.**
