Castlewood Grotpeter ~ 4.5 miles

Let's hike Castlewood State Park's Grotpeter Trail. MEET at 4:00, hike at 4:05, at the Grotpeter trailhead in the 1st parking lot on the RIGHT just past the PARK OFFICE. Sunset is at 6:04 pm, so we need to exit the park by 6:34 pm. ROUTE: We'll hike the [Grotpeter Trail](https://mostateparks.com/media/pdf/trail-details-grotpeter). [TRAIL MAP](https://mostateparks.com/media/pdf/trail-map-grotpeter) PACE/DISTANCE: My pace is about 2.5 to 3 mph. Total distance is around 4.5 miles. We will stop as often as needed to keep the group together. It should take us about 2 hours to complete. TERRAIN: Earthen trail rated Moderate. We will climb some steep hills. BRING: Bring water and hiking poles, if you prefer. Wear hiking shoes or sturdy tennis shoes and dress for the weather. Bug repellent in season. THIS HIKE WILL BE CANCELED IF WE HAVE INCLEMENT WEATHER.
