About this event
Dir. Herk Harvey. 1962, 78 mins. U.S. 35mm. With Candace Hilligloss, Sidney Berger, Frances Feist. One of the greatest low-budget American creepshows ever made, this maximally eerie trip into the surreal has proven wildly influential—and unforgettable to anyone who has surrendered to its peculiar powers. Hilligloss plays a woman who descends into a twilight netherworld after surviving a car accident in her tiny Kansas town. Haunted by the image of a nightmarish specter pursuing her, she begins to question her sanity. Memorably shot around the midwestern environs of wide-open stretches of land and abandoned amusement parks, this B-movie cult classic is a macabre masterpiece that always makes it feel like it’s 3 a.m., no matter what time you watch it. Tickets: $17.50 / $12 senior and students / $10 youth / $7 MoMI members. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. The cost of admission may be applied toward a same-day purchase of a membership. Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission.
