Understanding Caregiver Stress - with the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education

Spending time and energy focusing on others can cause caregivers to ignore their own health and wellbeing. This can lead to caregiver stress. This presentation by licensed social worker, Lauren Gale, will help attendees recognize caregiver stress and the importance of managing those stressors. She will also discuss tips for caregiver support, accepting help, and identifying barriers to self-care. This event will be livestreamed. Watch it here → MEET YOUR PRESENTER Lauren Gale, LSW, has worked as a social worker at the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education since 2022. She volunteered at the center in 2013 and completed their 40hr In Home Caregiver training course in 2015. She worked for a caregiving agency for a summer between community college and the University of Arkansas. Lauren graduated with her bachelor’s in social work in 2018. Lauren currently teaches caregivers how to care for someone with dementia, facilitates five dementia caregiver support groups, and manages the respite program held at the Schmieding Center.
