CAR STARS is an original musical celebrating Detroit’s automotive history through 23 original songs spanning vaudeville, Motown, blues, folk, gospel, rock, and more. Driven by Fred, an eighty-year-old retired factory worker and the "Phantom of the Factory," audiences journey from the assembly line to the dazzling world of auto shows, where colorful characters reveal the humor, heart, and humanity behind selling the dream on wheels. Most of all, you don't have to be a car buff—or know a carburetor from a cupholder—to enjoy this show. It's a story about people, dreams, and the city that put the world on wheels.
