With the Grand Prix over and the fences around the Capitol area gone, and the late-summer weather sweet, now's a good time to tour that historic, scenic locale. The Capitol Building, home of the U.S. Congress, is justly renowned for its stunning architecture and landscaping. Yet its interior and grounds have also held court to 225 years of outlandish events and outsized personalities. When: Sunday, August 30, 5 pm. What: A walking tour of the Capitol’s grounds that covers two centuries of scandals and brawls, and many uplifting feats as well.
