Camp Indigo Point at Ethical Society of St. Louis in Saint Louis, MO on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Camp Indigo Point is a residential summer camp for queer and trans youth entering 2nd-11th grade. Indigo Point believes that LGBTQ+ youth deserve a place and environment made specifically for them in community and safety with LGBTQ+ adults to thrive as kids: have fun, build lasting friendships, take risks, and build joy. Over the last four summers, Camp Indigo Point has become a safe and magical place for LGBTQ+ youth to leave behind the hectic pace, pressure, and technology of “the real world” and just be kids. Because here, unique from any other place in their lives, youth can truly understand each other. Camp is all about making friends, being outdoors, and playing all day! Days at Camp Indigo Point are filled with exciting activities, delicious healthy meals, and lots of time to hang with old and new friends. The camp strives to provide campers with meaningful experiences and the space to create lasting friendships that will have a positive and important impact on their life for years to come. Dan Grabel has had a passion for summer camp since his first overnight camp experience when he was 11. This summer marks his 35th year at an overnight camp and 16th owning and operating Camp Manitowa. Dan also has 14 years of experience working as a school social worker in Illinois and Missouri and has enjoyed a career working with youth and families. Dan was born and raised in St. Louis, graduated from University City high school, and currently lives in Denver where he loves hiking in the mountains, biking around town and doing yoga. Dan’s wife Lisa is a professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver, and their daughter will be attending the University of Iowa as a freshman in the fall (wow, how time flies!). Bob DeBoo is an in-demand performer and educator on both the double and electric bass. He has performed with David Sanborn, Joe Lovano, Peter Martin, Geoffrey Keezer, Alarm Will Sound, Terence Blanchard, Matt Wilson, the Adam Maness…
