Presented by members of Three 2 Go Music Alliance (an alliance of three music publishing and artist organizations: RWMVP, Melissa Kate Productions, and Van Taylor Productions). Provided by The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame with support from Erie County, This workshop is for those who: Are starting out in the entertainment and music fields Have written songs and don't know what to do next Play in a band Are established musicians who need a refresher on music business practices Are curious about the music business Produce or record artists This workshop covers basic music business topics, such as: Copyright Why you should protect your music SR v. PA copyrights Copyright v. publication Music Modernization Act Why set up a business? - LLC, S-Chapter, Sole Proprietorship, 501c3 Pitfalls to avoid in music business practice Ethical sharing of music rights and royalties Song ownership Music marketing - the basics What publishing a song means Time for Questions & Answers will be provided.
