About this event
**Tonight we meet in person at The Annex Coffee and Foods in Webster Groves.** This gathering is for anyone who feels a distance between where they are and where they want to be with God—or who has felt constrained by a high-control system, a loud tribe, or a church environment where honest questions were unwelcome. We meet online one week and in person the next for **two hours of Scripture reading, fellowship, prayer, and honest conversation.** We want to encounter the biblical text as lived experience: the people in its stories, the questions it raises, and the claims it makes on our own lives—not merely isolated verses. **There is no prepared sermon and no pressure to perform.** This is not a recovery program. It is a space for thoughtful Christians, seekers, doubters, and people in process to read, listen, ask, and grow together. **AI is a tool for study and conversation; it does not tell us what to believe.** When a difficult word, passage, or competing interpretation arises, we may use it as a serious student might use a lexicon, concordance, or shelf of commentaries—to explore language, historical context, and the ways Christians across time have understood the text. ***This is, frankly, an experiment.*** It may be awkward, and at times it may fall flat. But over time, it may help us notice patterns, questions, and insights found across the long record of Christian thought. The purpose is not to create a new authority, outsource conscience to a machine, or manufacture a universal religious ideology. **The goal is both modest and demanding:** to form a Christian conscience—a trustworthy moral compass—by bringing our instincts, cultural assumptions, and inherited ideological habits into the searching light of Scripture, reason, prayer, and faithful Christian wisdom. ***AI assists; it does not dictate.*** We are not using it to impose a predetermined Catholic, Protestant, or other denominational answer. Rather, we are widening the field of conversation…
