Bruce Bernhart

@ Owatonna-based Bruce Bernhart has been playing in local and regional bands for nearly 40 years. He was a regular performer at the Steele County Fair for decades with his own bluegrass band, and played bass for the popular and highly acclaimed “Tuition Daddies” jazz trio that entertained audiences in Owatonna for more than 10 years and performed at the Minnesota State Fair. Bruce says the highlight of his musical career came when he played in Branson MO while touring with Dick Kimmel and Company. His work can be heard on many CD’s that he’s recorded with his past bands and as a contributor to other artists. These days Bruce is a solo performer with a unique style- a pure instrumentalist on acoustic guitar and mandolin, playing a wide selection of songs and musical styles on both instruments ranging from traditional fiddle tunes to jazz standards to movie themes. He has been playing at MSB for nearly two years and appears regularly at other local venues and events.
