Brooksvale Park - 6-1/2 miles, 1,000ft elevation gain.

Enjoy this 6-1/2 mile loop trail near Hamden, Connecticut. Starting out at Brooksvale Park and hiking to Mount Sanford, located in the Naugatuck State Forest. Brooksvale Park is a 500 acre public park owned and operated by the town of Hamden, CT. Brooksvale is a farm inspired park that includes farm animals, an organic vegetable/herb garden, a sugar shack for boiling maple syrup, a bee apiary, fields for recreational use, and hiking trails. This hike will take an average of 3+ hours to complete. Hike rating is B+ and target pace will be \~2.1 mph. Please arrive ten to fifteen minutes early because we plan to start promptly at the time listed. Hike leader: Patrick Cunningham (203) 837-0912 No pets. We do ask for a contribution of $3 per hike or $15 per year to cover [meetup.com] fees and our annual social event. If picnic is scheduled, and you'd like to participate, please bring something that could be shared (i.e. potluck). Or... Lunch could be had at Eli's on Whitney (2392 Whitney Ave, Hamden - Parking is across from the restaurant.)
