What is the link between research and oracle cards? Research is about asking and answering questions. So too is an oracle card reading. Research is simply a high-dollar word for searching; and who. amongst us does not search for meaning, for answers, for clarity, or for possibility every single day? The oracle cards in Morna McNulty’s new book invite anyone, from any background to “play” with questions and possible answers afforded by the oracle process. The book follows the design of a traditional tarot deck which uses a set of 22 cards (like a major arcana). All designed using 22 original pieces of collage art, the front of each card in this deck is bespoke and distinct. Come on by the Ivy between 1-3pm on October 10. She received her PhD from the University of Virginia in 2002 in the field of arts-based research and evaluation. Morna is a professor in the College of Education at Towson University, as well as a fiction author (Blood’s Will — a vampire novel, 2018), and film producer (Voices of Baltimore: Life Under Segregation,2017). She is also a certified Paint Your Life instructor, hosting workshops in schools and art galleries around the country. Morna has been working in, and with, arts- integration for public education for over 20 years. Her photo-theory website: Posthuman Museum of Haunting (wordpress.com) received the 2020 award from the Lakehead Arts Integration Research Award/Juried Show.
