Book Discussion: On Being Mortal

Berkshire Health Systems is launching a pilot palliative care program at Fairview Hospital in the fall of 2026. As part of our community outreach, we are hoping to partner with local libraries to host a community read of Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. Topics like aging, serious illness, and end-of-life care are often faced in isolation. This book offers a thoughtful way to open that conversation and bring the community together around it. With November being National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, it feels like a fitting time to invite the community together in this book read/discussion.
