Meeting Room. Harris County Public Library's Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grade (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks to share the joy of reading. More information can be found on our website. The next session for the South Houston Branch Library will run from September 8 - November 10, 2026. The Buddies will meet on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM. Pick up an application for Little Buddies (readers) or Big Buddies (teen volunteers) at the front desk of the South Houston Branch Library!
