Board Game Inspired Fantasy Writing Workshop

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore the essential elements of fantasy writing, including world-building, character creation, magic systems, conflict, and plot development. Drawing inspiration from contemporary fantasy novels, students will complete engaging writing activities while using board game and tabletop role-playing elements to spark creativity. We'll use games like Catan to inspire map-making and world-building, Dungeons & Dragons character sheets to develop memorable protagonists, and storytelling games such as Rory's Story Cubes to generate exciting plots. By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with the beginning of an original fantasy story and new strategies for developing imaginative fiction.
