About this event

Blurred Lines: When History Isn't Tidy If you study history for about fifteen minutes, you’ll notice something about the past: rarely, if ever, is it neat and tidy. Instead, the past is full of complexities and oddities that just don’t seem to make sense. A Confederate who abhorred the southern government? A Unionist who vouched for slavery’s end, yet kept innocent people in bondage? While wrapping our heads around the past can seem impossible, the good news is that it doesn’t have to be! In this presentation, the presenter will share a few examples of historical complexities and discuss how we can rewire our minds when thinking about the past. Presented by History for the Ages.
