Join us for Borough Park Library's first Blood Drive in partnership with the New York Blood Center! Blood banks are at an all time low - save 3 lives by signing up to donate today! September is National Sickle Cell Awareness and Blood Cancer Month. By signing up to donate blood you are directly helping those with Sickle Cell Disease as well as those diagnosed with Blood Cancer. We are accepting all those eligible to donate blood. To check your eligibility, click here. Close to 2,000 donations are needed each day in the New York/New Jersey community for patients who require a lifesaving blood and/or platelet transfusion. Those in need include: cancer patients, accident, burn, or trauma victims, newborn babies and mothers delivering babies, transplant recipients, surgery patients, chronically transfused patients suffering from sickle cell disease or thalassemia, and many more.
