Blayne Asing

Hawaii-born musician, Blayne Asing, is established as the next generation of island singer-songwriters. His original compositions are reminiscent of the folk stars of yesteryear, invokes emotions of love, conflict, maturity and longing. What began as a journey of self-teaching, Blayne has developed many relationships after he was awarded “Most Promising Artist” at the 2016 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, and has since been collaborating with many famous Hawaii-based groups and artists such as Henry Kapono, Brother Noland, John Cruz, and Kalapana. Drawing from his local inspirations, collaborations, and his background in Hawaiian language and culture, Blayneʻs music is quite intimate and heartfelt. It blends the melodies and simplicity familiar to traditional Hawaiian music with the thought-provoking stories of coming-of-age. Blayne has evolved as a musician to also recording and producing from his home-operated studio, and is committed to developing the most important aspect of his craft; songwriting.
