Main Library, Ground Level, Bradley C. Walters Community Room. The Black Panther Party was formed in Oakland in October 1966. Celebrate the 60th anniversary by hearing from Party alumni first-hand! The rank and file members were the backbone of the Black Panther Party. They did the daily work of running the offices and programs and served the community. They were also the frontline in the fight against racism and police abuse. In this panel discussion, former members will discuss their experiences. We'll start at 5:30 with a short video, "Lords of the Revolution." The panel will start at 6pm. Hosted by BPP Historian, Billy X Jennings.
