About this event

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become increasingly integrated into nearly every aspect of modern life. As its presence continues to expand, discussions surrounding AI have become commonplace in news media, social media, and public discourse. For many, the decision to use AI extends beyond personal preference or convenience; it raises important ethical questions about its appropriate and responsible use. The purpose of this panel is to provide a balanced and thoughtful conversation that explores both the benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence. Through this event, we aim to help educate the public on the broader issues shaping current civic discourse around AI. While there are many topics worth discussing, this panel focuses on five: the environment, journalism and news, art and creativity, accessibility, and software engineering. The event will take the form of a panel discussion followed by a brief Q&A session. Each panelist will have 10–15 minutes to present on their area of expertise, with the final 30 minutes dedicated to audience questions submitted via notecards. This event is co-hosted by Front Range Community College and Poudre Libraries.
