Hope, Fear, and AI Psychology

Hope, Fear and AI Psychology AI is racing ahead at breathtaking speeds toward superintelligence. Are we heading toward a utopia, apocalypse, or just another hype cycle? Let's unpack the promise with behavioral science and put AI into proper perspective in the overall evolution of life on Earth. Join our founder Robin Krieglstein for hot takes on the AI situation that you won't find anywhere else. We’ll explore: • Our Minds: How are the quirks of human psychology framing our response to AI? • AI 'Minds': What does the new field of AI psychology say about how they'll behave in the future, and what that means for humanity? • Our future: What can past technological upheavals teach us, and what changes when machines become far smarter than us? Robin will share why he remains optimistic despite the serious risks, and the wider psychological, societal, technological and historical contexts that are missing from most AI discussions. Expect surprising connections across psychology, history, technology, and design, followed by an open discussion. Leave with a clearer way to examine competing predictions and think about the future we want to help create. Curious, skeptical, excited, uneasy? You’ll be in good company. Join us at Bescy Austin.
