A familiar sight in the summer sky, the Turkey Vulture soars high over the landscape riding on thermals. Often misunderstood, vultures have many fascinating characteristics that truly make them one of the most unique species in the bird world. This month's birding hike at Kleinstuck Preserve is led by experienced birder Seth Chapman. Before heading into the trails, Seth will introduce the Turkey Vulture in depth, covering identification by sight and sound, habitat preferences, and behavioral patterns. You'll leave the classroom portion of the morning with a new set of eyes and ears. On the trail, those skills go to work.
