Become a Slopbuster: AI Removal Workshop

Whether it’s a parade worth of identically chaotic flyers, endless intrusive requests to “improve” your writing, maddeningly obtuse customer service bots, or exploitative advertising and data collection, it can feel using any device or service these days means drowning in a sea of AI slop. In this workshop, we’ll learn practical steps for opting out of AI integrations and “features” in some of the apps and services you use every day. We’ll look at how to understand settings, how to understand what you’re opting into or out of, and work together to clean up your digital life. Participants looking for guided assistance in opting out of AI tools should bring their devices with them. This workshop will run twice, on Wednesday, November 18th and Sunday, November 22nd. You can attend one or both sessions. While the information will be the same both times, the workshop focuses on guided removal of AI services so you may wish to attend multiple sessions for further guided instruction.
