Remember when your mom told you that The Shining gave her nightmares, and then you watched it together and you were like "This is lame."? Well, we're going find out what scared our parents' grandparents' grandparents' grandparents. Probably exposed ankles, not getting enough mercury in your cough medicine, a late-night glass wine in your friend's catacombs... IDK. October's winner is curated review of some of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories: * The Murders in the Rue Morgue * The Purloined Letter * The Fall of the House of Usher * The Pit and The Pendulum * The Tell-Tale Heart * The Raven Since that is still less then 100 pages, I'm suggesting you also read: * The Masque of the Red Death * The Cask of Amontillado For those with e-readers: The first short story is in [this volume](https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/2147).
