Avalanche Awareness with Colorado Mountain Club

Meeting Room B. Arapahoe Libraries is excited to offer an Avalanche Awareness event with the Colorado Mountain Club! Participants will watch AIARE's short "Know Before You Go" awareness video, and then work in teams to decide what kind of outdoor conditions can make a winter activity a go or no-go. This class acts as an accessible starting point to becoming more aware with avalanches. This class does NOT serve as a replacement for more advanced avalanche certification classes. The Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) is a statewide community dedicated to getting people outside, building outdoor skills, and exploring Colorado. Through courses, trips, events, education, and more, CMC creates opportunities for people of all experience levels to learn, connect, and enjoy the outdoors. https://www.cmc.org/about
