About this event

Library Lobby. Interested in becoming a community scientist this fall? Come by this information table to find out how to participate in the 2nd Annual Autumn BioBlitz hosted by Burlington County Parks. Learn about project goals and how to use a smartphone with the iNaturalist app to record as many organisms as possible: plants, animals, fungi and more. This project can provide a “snapshot” of the biodiversity of Historic Smithville Park and Smith’s Woods, and submissions may also be used to inform natural resource management/conservation efforts. A BioBlitz is a collaborative community science project that anyone can participate in! The goal is for visitors to work independently (or together) to document various living organisms to identify as many species as possible in a given place during a specific time frame. One of the best parts, all skill levels are welcome! This program is presented by Gina DiMaio, Senior Park Naturalist with Burlington County Parks.
