Meeting Room. “An ambitious, inventive tribute to the power of storytelling itself." - Nikki Erlick, New York Times bestselling author of The Measure Join us for an early evening conversation with professor and award-winning author Nnedi Okorafor. Professor Okorafor will share the weaving of Africanfuturism in her story-telling and world building, and touch upon her latest work, Death of the Author, a tale of family culture and identity. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Event starts at 6:30 PM Registration is not required, but space is limited. Seating will be first-come, first-served. Free books are available until supplies last. About the Author: Nnedi Okorafor The global leader of Africanfuturism and an international literary superstar, Nnedi Okorafor is an award-winning novelist of science fiction and fantasy for both adults and children. Her latest adult novel, DEATH OF THE AUTHOR — which George R.R. Martin calls "Her best work yet” — is about fame, climate change, the writer’s life... and robots. She has a new children's book out in 2025 as well: THE SPACE CAT. One of the most award-winning writers in the sci-fi and fantasy genres, Nnedi has been awarded Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy, Locus, and Lodestar awards. She holds a PhD in Literature.
