About this event
In September 1918, Elizabeth Kalb arrived in Washington, D.C. to fight for voting rights for women. In A Radical Suffragist in Washington, D.C.: The Inside Story of the Woman’s National Party (linked to catalog), local author and historian Shirley M. Marshall describes Elizabeth’s experience living and working at the National Woman’s Party headquarters and how the suffragists ensured politicians didn’t ignore women’s rights. Copies of the book are available to check out from the library. A book sale and signing will follow at the end of the author talk. This event is part of the DC Public Library system’s America 250 adult programming. For more information, please send an email to takomaparklibrary@dc.gov or call 202-576-7252.
