Applegate Meeting Room, New Albany Main Library. Come join Lillian Rose as she discusses her memoir, "The Church Lady's Diary." "The Church Lady's Diary is an inspiring, true to life narrative about compassion, courage, resilience, and faith in action. Lillian Rose, President of The Hispanic Connection of Southern Indiana, has made it her lifework to empower immigrants of all backgrounds and nationalities. In 2001 a chance encounter with a priest in Indiana led her to a new mission: serving Hispanic immigrants through ministry and legal advocacy. As Deputy Director of the Hispanic Ministry and founder of a transformative legal aid center, Lillian and her team have helped thousands obtain their permanent legal status and U.S. citizenship. At 84 affectionately known as "The Church Lady", Lillian remains a fierce advocate, accomplished painter and storyteller."
